Hugh Watson is a Practice Leader in the Construction & Infrastructure Team at Moores
Hugh’s practice focuses on building contracts, development agreements and ancillary documents for residential, commercial and industrial projects. Hugh is particularly proud of his extensive work for aged care and community living providers, community housing organisations and high end residential developers.
Hugh also applies his expertise in preparing and negotiating building contracts and consultancy agreements to assist schools and other education providers with their building projects.
In addition to his more traditional construction work, Hugh regularly advises clients on infrastructure projects and asset maintenance agreements.
Hugh prepares and negotiates clear and easy to administer agreements that balance his clients’ objectives and the need to just get projects delivered. Hugh provides tailored, practical and timely solutions – he dislikes legalistic, unhelpful or uncommercial advice as much as his clients do.
Hugh’s clients appreciate how proactive and available he is and his outcomes focused approach. Hugh enjoys working closely with his clients as part of their team and ensuring that things work as they should.
Why Moores?
"Freedom to practice law differently with clients who are forging a better community and improving the built and natural environment."

Hugh no longer calls himself a cyclist even though he started racing at 14. These days he just gets on his bike whenever he can, be it towing his daughter in the trailer, hammering to work, rolling along with mates on the weekend or riding to meetings.
Like all current and recovering cyclists, Hugh loves talking all things bike, so please don’t get him started on the next bike he wants to buy.
